When you think about milestones, you might imagine graduating from college, getting married, buying your first car, buying a house or starting a family.
Of course, these are life-altering events, but in my opinion, the real milestones are the moments when you make some huge shifts in your mindset.

Here are just a few examples of the moments that give your life direction:
The moment you decide that you don’t care about what other people think of you.
The moment you decide that you are stronger than everyone thought you were.
The moment you decide that you are the boss of your life.
The moment you decide that you are not holding yourself back ever again.
The moment you decide that you only spend time with people who give you energy and positivity.
The life journey milestones make you feel powerful.
These milestones are the moments that make you feel powerful and in control of your life. Most of all, these are the moments that lead you to the life that you really want.
Reaching materialistic milestones can be great and make you feel good. Buying that house and marrying the love of your life, are certainly things that can make you happy and they are great things to strive for. However, they don’t define who you are. If you are not as successful as you’d imagined or if you didn’t get that dream job, don’t feel bad about yourself.
You haven’t failed if you haven’t bought your first house by 30 or if you don’t have a family by 40. You haven’t failed if you didn’t get a university degree. These are life events we can’t always plan. What we can plan, no matter what happens in the world around us, is how we feel about ourselves.
At the end of the day, it’s just you and your thoughts. Your mindset milestones define who you are and who you aspire to be. If you live in your dream house, but your thoughts make you feel like rubbish, it doesn’t make you happy.
Remember that you are the most important person in your life, because you spend the most time of your life with you. Make sure that in these moments, you are spending time with someone who loves you. Make sure that this person cares about you deeply and tells you things that make you feel good.
Out with negative self-talk, in with love and positivity.
In conclusion: Reach those freakin’ milestones!
Interesting article. It kind of changes your perspective. Nicely done
